Use the copilot

The copilot is an assistant in the Offer Manager console that answers questions about your agents, moments, offers, and rules, and drafts changes to them that apply only after you approve each one. It works with the same records you see in the console, as you, with your role in the org. This document describes how to open it, what it can do, how its changes are approved, and its limits.

For a change to one field of one rule, the field's own text box is faster. See Write a rule in plain language. The copilot suits work that spans records, such as creating an offer with its rule, changing several rules at once, or finding out why a customer saw an offer.

Before you begin

  • Offer Manager must be enabled for your org. In an org without it, the copilot says so and does nothing else.
  • To ask questions, you need the viewer role or above. To approve a change, you need the editor, admin, or owner role.

Open the copilot

Click the sparkle button at the top right of the console, or press Ctrl+J (⌘J on a Mac). The copilot opens beside the page you are on.

The copilot knows which page is open, including the agent you picked and a rule or offer you are editing with its unsaved changes. "Make this one RCS only" refers to the rule on screen.

What you can ask

Task Example
Find and summarize "Which rules show the unlimited upgrade, and to whom?"
Create "Create an offer for a $10 unlimited upgrade with Upgrade and Not now replies, and a rule that shows it to prepaid customers after a billing question."
Change several records "Pause every upgrade rule for prepaid customers until January 5."
Describe attributes "Label the attributes the sales agent started sending this week."
Check reach "How many customers would the spa rule reach if I add gold-tier guests?"
Explain a decision "Why didn't the request with message ID direqt-6a3f… get an offer?"
Learn the product "How do frequency caps on moments and rules interact?"

To explain a decision, give the copilot the request's message ID. On the Reports page, the Journal tab lists recent requests, and clicking a Message ID copies it.

The copilot reads the documentation on this site to answer product questions, and follows the same rules as the console: a rule can use only its agent's moments and attributes, and a change that the console would refuse is refused.

Approve a change

The copilot never changes anything on its own. Each change it proposes appears as a card titled Approve this change?, which shows:

  • A summary of the change.
  • The record as it reads now (Before) and as it would read after the change (After), or New for a record it creates.
  • The exact fields that change, behind N fields changed.

Click Approve to apply it, or Deny to refuse it. To adjust the change before applying it, click Edit. A deletion is marked with a warning icon. A card that isn't answered within 10 minutes expires, and nothing changes.

An approved change is saved like a change made in the console, and it is recorded as yours, made through the copilot. A viewer's copilot can read and explain, and every change it proposes is refused.

Chats

Each conversation is a chat. To start a new one, click New chat. To return to an earlier chat, click the chat's title and choose it from the list, and to name it, click Rename. Chats are kept for seven days after their last use.

The mode under the title chooses the model. Fast mode answers quickly and suits most tasks. Deep mode is slower and more thorough, for questions that span many records.

Limits

Each person can send 10 messages a minute. Each org also has a daily usage budget, shared by everyone's chats and plain-language translations in the org, which resets at midnight UTC. When either limit is reached, the copilot says so and accepts messages again when it resets. If your org reaches its daily budget regularly, ask your Advertising.chat contact to raise it.

Use the same tools elsewhere

The copilot's tools are also available in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and other assistants that support MCP, with your own login. See Manage Offer Manager from an AI assistant.
