Create a moment

A moment is a named point in a conversation where an offer could fit. Your agent names a moment by its code each time it requests an offer. This document describes how to create a moment in the console. To decide which offers appear at the moment, create a rule after you create the moment.

You can also create moments with the Offer Manager API.

The example on this page is the resort concierge agent from Moments, offers, and rules, which offers guests a spa booking after they check in.

Before you begin

  • Offer Manager must be enabled for your org. See Availability.
  • You need the editor, admin, or owner role in the org.

Create the moment

  1. In the console, in the Offer Manager section, click Moments.
  2. Click Create Moment.
  3. In Agent, choose the agent that reports this moment. You can't change it later.
  4. In Moment Name, enter a name for your team, such as After check-in.
  5. In Code, enter the identifier your agent will send, such as after-check-in. Codes are unique within an agent.
  6. In Description, describe when the agent reports this moment, such as The guest has checked in and the room is ready. Marketers and the copilot read it to know what the moment means, and plain-language rules match instructions such as "after check-in" to moments by their names and descriptions.
  7. Optional: In Frequency Cap, choose how often one customer can see an offer at this moment, from 1 / hour to 1 / three months. The default, None, sets no cap.
  8. Make sure Enabled is on.
  9. Click Add.

The moment appears on the Moments page. It serves no offers until a rule connects offers to it. To start one from the moment's page, click NEW RULE.
